Whenever someone tells you bs (usually to sell something) like no need to diet to get results, or with this diet you can eat whatever you want or with that diet you can eat how much you want, it is pure bs. Let's talk about cardio on a complete empty stomach. Is it effective to lose fat? 
Yes very effective but I don't think that it's good, here's why. 
When waking up, the stress hormone cortisol level is at one of its highest. 
You also just spent the night fasting without food and often also without water. 
Therefore your body is under a lot of stress. 
Now if on top of all of this you put even more stress on the body with cardio, the body may lose fat but also muscle! 
Sometimes all this stress will also make the body retain the fat. That's why in my opinion cardio should not be done on a complete empty stomach. 
I think that's it's better to have some fast digestible protein to protect the muscles and then do cardio.
