Remember if you do not have Eclipse glasses do not look at the sky! Even normal sunglasses won't help! https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety #astronomy #eclipse2017 #solareclipse #solareclipse2017 #donotlookatthesun
Total Solar Eclipse today! If you do not have glasses then do not look up you could go blind! #astronomy #eclipse #totalsolareclipse #eclipse2017 #totalsolareclipse2017
Because today is #nationallionday. These beautiful creatures are endangered; they used to be found in Africa, Asia, and even in parts of Europe, now they live in Africa and have an even smaller population in Asia. #nationallionday #beautifulcreatures #wildcats #endangeredanimals
So this little guy has been hanging around my house for the past few days and finally Thursday after midnight he spun a web right outside the kitchen window where he's been ever since. #animals #notafanofspiders

It was 48 years ago today July 20th 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts landed on moon. Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin piloted the Lunar Module named "Eagle" to touch down on the Sea of Tranquility while astronaut Michael Collins orbited in the Command Module named "Columbia". Some around 530 million people watched the groundbreaking event on TV as Neil Armstrong took the first step and said the famous line, "that's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" he was joined minutes later by Buzz Aldrin. They spent 21 hours on the Lunar surface while they were on the moon they set up a camera, spoke to President Nixon, collected samples, slept, and even raised the American flag. They left behind medallions that had the names of the three astronauts that died during the Apollo 1 tragedy and two Russian cosmonauts that died in accidents. With the Apollo 11 moon landing the USA against all odds had finally won the Space Race against Russia. Apollo 11 paved the way for five more manned moon missions and the computer in the Saturn V Rocket was more powerful than a modern day cell phone. It's amazing how this was during the Cold War and while the U.S. and Russia were having their huge rivalry trying constantly to outdo each other, some breakthroughs and discoveries were made, people were able to focus on reaching for something positive. There used to be an old saying "the sky is the limit" well the triumph of the Apollo 11 mission proved that saying wrong. #theskyisnotthelimit #projectapollo #nasa #nasahistory #science #history #space #spaceflight #spaceexploration #saturnvrocket #commandservicemodule #lunarexcursionmodule #commandmodule #lunarmodule #nasahistory #spacehistory #thatsonesmallstepformanonegiantleapformankind #theeaglehaslanded

It was 48 years ago on July 16, 1969 that the historic Apollo 11 spaceflight was launched carrying the crew of Neal Armstrong (mission commander), Buzz Aldrin (Lunar Module pilot), and Michael Collins (Command Module pilot) on what would be the first journey to the moon. It amazes me that one of humanity's greatest accomplishments happened during such a turbulent time in history. Apollo 11 is an example to me that people are capable of doing great things. #apollo11 #nasa #nasahistory #history #spaceflight #spaceexploration #science #saturnvrocket #moonlanding

So me and my mom went to Greenville today and when we were leaving right before we got into Bethel I noticed some really dark clouds, I thought it would only be storming in that area. When we stopped in Oak City we noticed the storm clouds were behind us and it was cloudy for much of the way home we finally got back to Aulander and got back home just a couple of minutes before the storm came. The storm followed us all the way from Pitt County. I love storms and all but I hope nobody is hurt and stay safe everybody. #weather #flood #thunderstorm
