Lady Di has recently entered the Protea scene here in California and has done so in royal fashion! Considered a hybrid queen, this flower is a blend of P. magnifica (queen) and P. compacta. Lady Di has a medium-to-large bloom with a soft, velvety-pink appearance, obviously more compacta influence and lacking the woolly beards of the magnifica. Lady Di blooms winter through early spring. 🌷🌷🌷 #protea#queen#flowerfarm
Leucospermum are some of the most popular members of the Proteaceae family and easily recognized by their flower-heads with long, conspicuous styles, each one thickened at its apex to form a pollen presenter. Together, the mass of styles look like pins bristling from a pincushion, a similarity that has given rise to the popular name for these Proteas. 📷: Pincushion Firecracker 🎆 #flowerfarm#protea#pincushion
So proud of Mud Baron, our friend & artist, who was able to support @seanpenn and @jphro’s work last night. Thanks to @aidenmatthewcohen + Emeli!
Next stop for FOYH —helping out the kids IN #haiti with a #schoolgarden . More flowers for more people, everywhere.
Repost from @jphro using @RepostRegramApp - #JPGala#FlowersOnYourHead portrait of @emilia_clarke. Emilia generously contributed an auction item to our event (watching an episode of #GameOfThrones with her!) which raised funds ($160k) for our coalition of relief organizations in Haiti, Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas and Antigua / Barbuda. You can donate to the coalition right on Emilia’s photo on our Facebook page. #californiagrown#flowers#support#hurricainerelief
Grevillea banksii, also called Red silky oak, Dwarf silky oak, Banks' grevillea, Byfield waratah and, in Hawaii, Kahili flower or Kahili tree. A gorgeous shrub or tree with blood red flowers during this time of the year. It’s one of the original grevilleas and the parent of many hybrid grevilleas. An excellent bird attractant too! 🌷🕊 #protea#grevillea#red#inseason
2018 resolution: relish more red ❤️. 📷: Ceres... this gorgeous bloom is a ‘Hybrid Queen’ or more precisely - a cross of P. magnefica and P. obtusifolia. When fully open this protea is often over 4 1/2 inches in diameter and has a deep fuchsia to red color. #protea#red#resolution
