Congratulations to everyone who ran yesterday.

I saw many of you and many of you saw me. If you saw me, give me a shoutout as I didn't recognise everyone - sorry but there was a sea of runners all day.

Also weirdly, people were using my real name, most people I know tend to call me Runna.

Captured the moment everyone's marathon started yesterday.

I enjoyed being on the sidelines supporting. Even helped a runner suffering heat stroke, cramps and vomiting. Gave him water from my water bottle. No way I was getting the water bottle back. He needed it more than I. Plus... vomit.

Stress tested the knee just then.

8kms and no pain.

Now to build up some endurance again.

Smashed it. Felt strong and felt good. Only 20 seconds off my course PB.

12 weeks since I first pulled back the running because of ITB.

Still not out of the woods yet. But happy to take my time in recovery, 5km sessions at a time.

Good luck to all my insta friends running at Melbourne tomorrow. I'll be on the sidelines somewhere ready to harass you all.

I've had 12 weeks away from proper running and look at my time today. You may have had a disrupted lead up to tomorrow, but you will smash it too.

In response to this post by @jb.exercisephysiologist I decided to see where my left foot could reach compared to the right. I tore two tendons in my left foot 4 years ago and didnt have the foot reconstruction as Doc said it was only a 50/50 chance of working.

Reduced ankle dorsiflexion (moving your foot up towards your shin) following an ankle injury is a risk factor for several lower body injuries, including (but not limited to) plantar fasciopathy, repeated ankle sprains and Achilles tendinopathy. A simple knee to wall stretch can assist with improving dorsiflexion, thus reducing the risk of further pathology. Hold for 10 seconds and repeat five times per day.

Ran 3.2kms in 18:24 at 5:40 pace. 
No pain.

Hurts that my endurance has dropped off but my goal is to get to 5kms without pain. 
If I can run 5kms without pain, then I can run 6, then 7 and build up slowly again.

Felt good to run but still need to be careful not to increase distances too much.

Very happy with the pace on the run to the school (1st session) to play soccer.

I am truly very lucky to have @smithd38 by my side. It sucks not running so I have had to substitute rides in when I can.

Problem is that a decent ride takes up far more time that a run would, meaning I am missing in action from the home for a lot longer.

I'm enjoying the riding as I can discover more, but prefer running.

Using this time to scope out other potential running routes for when my knee is healed.

A yoga studio happens to operate in the Girl Guides Hall on my street.
