Women’s March 2017. My mom flew all the way down from Washington to join her babies in supporting women as well as all human equality. I will forever cherish this experience. I could not be more proud to be my mother’s daughter. Who will I see tomorrow at The Women’s March 2018?!?!
For those of you that don’t know.... my goal in life is to uplift and empower women. Thank you @jamiedanahairstylist starting this movement!!! I’m ready ⚡️⚡️⚡️ #Repost @jamiedanahairstylist (@get_repost)
🎉 Announcing the RAISE UP TO RISE UP Movement 🎉
Have you ever thought about how fast our industry is changing because of community? Think about it; if you’ve been doing hair for 5-10 years, you probably remember when every salon meeting, educational event, and every goal set was to put yourself ahead of the salon down the street. If you’ve been doing hair for 1-5 years, you’ve learned that social media can help gain you a following, but then what? How do you become the person who stands out above the rest? The industry can be a very isolating place, whether its your salon isolating itself from the rest or how you view and manifest your goals, making you believe you have to do it all alone.
One of my favorite quotes has been “a candle does not lose it’s flame by lighting another candle.” I thought about it a lot and I wanted there to be something for our community of hairstylists to connect with one another, but not just to connect, but to actually encourage one another and help each other grow. Lifting others up takes intentionality. It doesn’t just happen naturally, you have to actively go out of your way to encourage someone else. And I want to bring that about.
I’m so excited to announce a new movement that I want to bring to the hair industry ☄️Raise Up to Rise Up ☄️. I'm challenging you to join me in the 5 Day Raise Up to Rise Up Movement!
Over the next 5 days starting tomorrow, Thurs Jan 18th-Mon Jan 22nd, I am going to give you a task that builds up another stylist in our community.
To join the movement, share this image on your page or stories and use the hashtag #raiseuptoriseup to help spread this movement and to find other like-minded stylists who want to encourage + grow too.
I also wrote a blog post sharing my heart behind the movement where you can also sign up at the bottom to receive daily email reminders for each day of the movement! Click the link in my bio to read more and sign up!
Jacqueline ⚡️⚡️Super fun color transformation today for @stylehawking!! Went from blonde to an ashy, dimensional, bright color melt. Thank you girl for trusting me with your hair yet again and be the sweetest ever ✨ Scroll through to see her hair in different lightings plus the before photos ✨
At @1805gallery admiring @samanthalouisedesigns!! Not only is she one of the most talented artists I’ve ever seen, she’s also the coolest and realist chicks ever. Go check out her show next Thursday to experience her creative magic ✨✨✨
Rubi⚡️⚡️ Soft color melt on one of my faves! We started playing with her color about a year ago and have only needed to do minor maintenance since then! Sometimes it’s just about bringing up a few lighter pieces towards the root or a quick toner! Thank you for always being such a doll and making my job so easy! ✨
Alexis⚡️⚡️Major color correction for this beauty! She came in with a harsh line of regrowth, white blonde money piece up to her root, and brassy tones. So happy I could get my hands on her hair to create a much softer color melt. Thank you Alexis for letting me play and being such a positive, inspiring, hard working, feminist!! Check out @wemarchforth to see the amazing project she is working on!!
Spent New Years in Vegas with my boo @rochellerandall ✨✨ Rochelle is one of the most determined, dedicated, and inspiring women I have ever met. Couldn’t have been happier to bring in the new year with such a bad ass babe 💛💛
This past year I had the opportunity to work with some of the most incredible, talented and creative women. So grateful to @andie_jones for recommending me and thank you to everyone else who asked me to work with you time and time again. I absolutely love that my job allows me to spend time with the most bad ass babes and collaborate and some really fun stuff. 2017 was a warmup, so excited to see what 2018 will bring!!!! Jennifer⚡️⚡️ Created a soft, triangular lob and added a side swept fringe! This color is months old! Another example of the longevity you can get from a color melt. With the right product at home and regular trims, there is not always a need to do major color projects every appointment. Thank you Jennifer for being such a sweetheart and loyal client!!
This year our gifts had a common theme. Going into 2018 as a family of bad ass feminists. My mom raised us to be independent, strong, supportive, liberal women, and we are fucking proud of it 👊🏼 (all gifts are from charitable and/or small businesses) #wildfeminist
Couldn’t have dreamt up better weather for coming home. Growing up in Boston, I learned to love a white Christmas. So glad to experience one here in Washington with my family. Now if all of my friends could just come up so we can make snow angels and drink hot cocoa ☃️☃️ #definitelynotinsandiegoanymore
Kendall⚡️⚡️Created a soft, layered cut to enhance the color from a few months ago!! The beauty of these color melts is that they can be very low maintenance. You can have multiple cut/toner appointments in between the major color appointments. Thank you @kendallbrennan for being such a doll!! 💛💛
View this morning from my bedroom looking onto my parents front yard. Soaking up the beauty of a white Christmas as much as I can before my parents make the move to San Diego in 2018. I’m definitely going to miss this place ❄️❄️❄️
