According to the nutritional break-up of kiwi fruit, per 100 grams contain 154 percentage of Vitamin C, which is almost twice that of lemons and oranges.
Vitamin C acts as powerful antioxidant, eliminating free radicals that could cause inflammation or cancer.

Bought some basil from the most colorful table at the @urbanharvesthouston farmers market this am, @laughingfrogfarm_ I even got to try some purple basil. It has the same aromatics as green basil leaves but has some bitterness to it-- I would add it to a salad.
For the green basil I purchased, I plan on adding to it a sweet potato and chorizo hash I'm making tomorrow for the fam.

Salmon is very high in various B vitamins. These vitamins are involved in several important processes in your body, including turning the food you eat into energy, creating and repairing DNA and reducing the inflammation that can lead to heart disease. •

FIGS // common illness cure-all
Because of the fig’s long history, it has been used to treat a wide range of common ailments for thousands of years.
More than 40 illnesses connected to the digestive, endocrine, reproductive and respiratory systems have been treated with fig fruit, extracts and components of the fig tree.
Studies have shown figs to be a good source of treatment for anemia, cancer, diabetes, leprosy, liver disease, paralysis, skin diseases, ulcers, gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract infections, and more.
Figs and the fig tree are considered promising candidates for helping develop new drugs as well, and researchers hope to continue finding new medicinal uses for the plant.

Today's farmers market bag got a little heavy from a rockin yield. I may need to copycat @wellnessbycarli and snag her super cute FM 'basket' she bought at @wholefoods. Today I walked away with a watermelon, arugula and cucumbers from my buddy Zed, some figs, pears, a cascading succulent and a watermelon agua fresca + mango parfait from my fave @ripecuisine. Did I mention I walked away with a lot? I'm counting that as today's workout. Happy Saturday!
Shout out to the fellas at @loamagronomics for giving me the idea to stuff the acorn squash I purchased from them at the @urbanharvesthouston farmers market. It turned out to be one of the quickest and most delicious meals I've cooked in a while. See y'all tomorrow morning!
