The sweet chestnut has come into flower with its lovely fluffy fronds. You smell it before you see it! Next on my street it will be the bladder senna which comes into flower. What's flowering where you are?
Now while this looks like a bad picture it was in fact the best one of s bad bunch. However, my friend tells me we were really lucky to see this fella who is a male figure hopper (I'm told). She told me they spend most of their life underground in the larval stage and are only above ground as adults for a short time.
What have you all been up to? I've been on an IG break because I've been busy with summer cold 🤧But look-see what I found yesterday! I've no idea what this little lovely is and isn't that just awesome! I love new discoveries 💕 Does anybody know what this is?
I love flowers like this. They look so fragile, so very sweet. But look how tough they are. See how they not only survive but bloom. If I needed a burst of hope today, this my lovely IG friends, is it. Happy polling day!
Lovely Herb Robert in the woods ❤️ Did you know this shy little plant shows promise for treating cancer. As somebody who has lost multiple people to that horror how can I not love this little plant bursting with potential?
My friend feels very much for this old, dead tree. It's bleached ghost is a significant marker not only in her landscape but also in her mental health journey. I find this such a beautiful thing. The tree itself is long dead and yet still somehow lives inside her, despite the fact that she never knew it alive.
What do you see? Sky? Or water? I was lucky enough to spend the morning walking with an old friend, and stroll home past this lovely spot here. It's one of my favourite places. Before the mills appeared this was the confluence of two rivers that run through the town.
We had a delicious thunderstorm last night, fierce and powerful. Today the droplets merely float in the air like a mist and I am sat on the doorstep enjoying the bees visiting the lavender and the wonderful feel of the finally cool air on my bare skin. After the heat of the last few days it feels divine.
One of my next door neighbours is a robin (he's photo-shy) & I'm spending a few minutes with a cup of coffee listening to him on this sunny Sunday afternoon. Once he became an individual, rather than 'a robin' a relationship started. We're neighbours, sharing the same space, same air, same sunny Sunday. Do you know any of your animal neighbours? Do you greet them? Give them names?
I always used to think I needed to trek out deep into the woods to be connected to the land and feel part of it. What it took me a long time to realise is that sitting on my doorstep at twilight, next to the lavender and watching the swallows dance, is just as valid a way to be with the land and belong to it. Neither practice is better than the other.
Hello instagram! I've been away from this account for a while, posting on my other account & trying to find some sense of direction of where I want to be headed. Unbeknownst to her @caitsdreamscapes has finally helped me regain that clarity and I'm feeling quite excited to start posting here again.
