The last few posts have been about Texas. Well now we go to the opposite end of the country to snowy Michigan!! My good friend @abguher provided this pic of cross country skiing ⛷. Stay tuned for more pics of America the Beautiful. 🇺🇸
The theme of this week’s posts is America the Beautiful. You might have seen my previous posts on Texas so I’m continuing with the domestic travel pics. Sometimes we consider travel as leaving the country but there is so much amazing travel that can be done within our borders too!!! We have such a large and diverse country that even traveling to a different state can provide a world of differences in culture, food, and dialects. Share your favorite US places with us!!
Continuing with the Texas theme. I love Austin!! I especially love to explore the outskirts. I wanted to share this pic because one of my best friends and climbed this hill and had a spectacular view. I love to explore with friends and this pic reminds me of that.
I have been out for a while, so I thought I should share one of my favorite pics of my travels. This pic of Guatemala 🇬🇹 is one that I truly love. But that is because Guatemala is such a colorful country. Just like these masks in Antigua.
Europe in Texas... sometimes you don’t need to look far to feel you are someplace foreign. I love finding little gems around the country. Such as Fredericksburg in Texas. Thanks @thebuddingtraveller for this pic!
Another cenote picture. But this time, it’s not so much about the cenote itself but of what is around it: nature, tranquility, fauna, etc. What struck me about this pic from @manon_legoy was that it reminded me of self reflection. Sometimes it takes the beauty of nature or the loneliness of a foreign place to make us reflect on ourselves and the true joy of our lives. ⠀⠀
merci pour cette belle photo @manon_legoy !
When I️ think of travel the first thing that comes to mind is usually a beautiful landscape or some distinct architecture. However, I️ find that more often than not it is the simple things that peek my interest. Such as the inside of a store or small restaurant. The construction, tiles, and decorations are what transports me to another land. Thanks @cypsoup for this beautiful image.
Some people travel for knowledge, others travel to see the places they met during history class or through a novel. Some people travel to meet people or to visit people they met somewhere else. Some travel in search of their own story. Thanks @alesatc for this picture that reminds me of the close relationship between travel, books, history, and stories.
When I saw this picture it reminded me of how much I love Switzerland 🇨🇭. It was definitely a country that blew me away with its natural beauty. @fleurdebonheur did an awesome job of capturing its gentle beauty.
To me there is nothing I love most when I walk the streets of a new city than to walk around its markets. Flower markets are especially wonderful. This photo by @ansandager reminded me of the many colorful memories I have of flower markets. Do you have a special market memory? 🌸
I know I always talk about Mexico but can’t help it. It’s just so magical, so beautiful, and mystical. It’s more than just tacos and sombreros. It’s about nature and how history has carved it into something special. El Cenote is an example of this natural mysticism. The Mayans believed that the Cenotes had power and were entries to other worlds. Thanks @lasrosasfotografia for this incredible pic.
