And one last post for 2017: my entry for #magamsewalong for this month, which is #designindecember , hosted by @nicedressthanksimadeit (voting for the competition is on her IG page) and @sarahlizsewstyle! I made this dress earlier this year, and first shared it during September's #sewphotohop . Original post below:
I found this beautiful Carolina Herrera fabric at Mood NYC and was pondering what to make from it when I saw Michelle Obama rocking this look in Cuba. One hacked #emerydress bodice and #b4443 skirt later and voilà! That's why we sew! #madewithmood
Can't wrap up 2017 without a massive thank you to the wonderful IG sewing community for being the most fun, talented, encouraging, inspirational, creative, and supportive gang! I've had the best four months sharing my hobby with the most amazing people - and getting to meet them in person has been a blast! Here's hoping 2018 brings peace and joy to all!
#bpsewvember Day 10: Everyday ~ I can't get over the pleasure of wearing something handmade everyday, even if it's just a simple garter stitch neck warmer. Always puts a spring to your step! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS: That's not me.
#bpsewvember time! Hi, I'm Elle, one of these two toodles (I'm hoping the left one, she's rocking the Kate-Winslet-in-Titanic pose). Twenty-seven years after this photo was taken, my twin sister and I were cramming for the New York bar exam and decided that would be the perfect time to start sewing, and thus a passion was born. I share my makes (sshhh, and hers) on this page. Come say hi!
