All the twigs and grass we ate for thanksgiving. 😂😂😂 Very lucky to be in a family where almost everyone is vegan (also to those newer lone vegans: give it Time, you’ll be amazed at who comes around eventually). Everything was delicious and filling and the company was pretty great too 😌 Being vegan isn’t difficult and it isn’t deprivation. It’s just finding different ways to enjoy foods you already love, compassionately. #andnotamacrowascounted#veganthanksgiving#vegan#compassion#eatallthethings
A quick handy guide to meal timing and a few different strategies depending on your goals, where your at currently in terms of fitness and commitment. What’s important to remember though is if you’re focused on pre, intra, and post workout timing but you’re not paying attention to your overall intake for the day, you’re missing the forest for the trees. If you’re new start with the top tier and don’t even think about moving to the next one until you’ve mastered it. This was kind of fun to make. If you're in the Atlanta area, head over to the Veg Fest tomorrow! It's at the Cobb County Civic Center and opens at 10am. I will be speaking with some other fine ladies in a Women's Health panel at 11 am. And I'll be behind our booth all day talking about all things fitness and nutrition. If you're there and you see us, say hello! Look forward to seeing you there. Also, how cute is their logo this year 🐮 #atlantavegfest#veganathlete#plantbuilt#vegancoach#atlantavegans
Shared from @sciencestrength. If you are not following Anastasia, you are missing out more than you know. A vegan, a scientist, a powerlifter, a bodybuilder who spouts NOTHING BUT GOLD in terms of evidence based advice for vegan lifters. Seriously, stop reading, and go follow her. I'll wait.
To follow up on her caption (second pic), as a beginner lifter, the little details aren't that important. Lift regularly, sleep enough, eat enough protein, and stay in a caloric surplus or deficit depending on your goals. Meal timing, supplementation, even honing more in on macros are not that important. Build your foundation and focus on details ONLY when that shit is nailed down. Once you become a more intermediate/advanced lifter, paying attention to those details can help keep you progressing as gains naturally slow down. Paying attention to your training variables, meal timing, macro timing and adding some supplementation will give you an extra edge. But too many people are trying to put the horse before the cart. Or as Mark Bell put it: "If you're taking creatine and sleeping 5 hours a night, you're an idiot" 😂
Build your house from the ground up.
Went peach picking this weekend. With my dad's passing and getting Lyme disease back to back, along with some other intense family stuff going on, I've made it a point to really be seeking things that bring me joy. The last couple years have really just been: work, train, eat, sleep. I'm a driven person, but not taking time to refill my cup left me empty when I needed to most. Lesson learned. Fill your damn cup up when you can. #selfcare#fillyourcup#peachpicking#findjoy#healing

Lemon Protein Corncakes with blueberry compote. 57c/1f/38p.
40 g vanilla brown rice protein
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp citric acid crystals (I get mine from a Lebanese grocery store)
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c water
Mix all the dry, add the wet and mix, cook like regular pancakes. While that's cooking, microwave (or stovetop cook if you prefer) 100g blueberries and stir in a few drops of vanilla and some stevia. Too corncakes with the cooked down bloobs. Crush your training ;-) #whatveganseat#wheredoyougetyourprotein#veganproteins#plantbuilt#veganathlete#flexibledieting#veganiifym#veganrecipe
As someone who works with physique based athletes for a living, many people assume that I'm game to openly judge other people's physiques or that I will join in as people berate themselves. Nope. I don't play that shit. Just because this is what I do for a living doesn't mean it's for everyone or that it should be. Every body is different and I dig them all. And lastly, Amanda competed at her first competition after a whirlwind of issues. Her first show was cancelled at 6 weeks out so we had to pick another show 6 weeks LATER than we planned, extending her prep quite a bit. Then, lack of communications left SO much up in the air about her new show. THEN the show tanner cancelled two days out! With all of these complications I wouldn't have been surprised if she said "screw it" and quit, but she didn't. She persevered even through all of the challenges and ended up placing 1st in both masters and novice figure and looked completely ripped doing it! So proud of you Amanda! #plantbuilt#veganbodybuilding#wheredoyougetyourprotein#veganproteins#vegancoach#womensfigure#naturalbodybuilding#vegansdoitbetter
